Estes Equinox Build Part 15, Wing Assembly Gluing


The bottom root edges were sanded at a slight angle for a better fit against the jet tubes.

You can see the inside lower walls were masked for better adhesion.


This is a dry fit of the wing assembly.
Under the bottom root edge you can see the paint scraped off for root edge gluing. This was a tricky one to scrape. Be careful not to scrape past the front edge of the fin location.

  1. It appears that the vertical fins are not only glued to the horizontal fin and body tube but also to the jet tubes. That would be one excellent, rigid design.

  2. Hi Lonnie,
    Like you said, lots of gluing surfaces.Considering the pieces are only 1/16" thick, it's very rigid.
