Do It Yourself Baffle Part 1

Some available baffles can cost almost $5.00!
You can make them yourself using scraps for a fraction of that price.

First up - a coupler made from the some scrap tubing, cut from the same tubing as the main body tube. This model will be made from a Quest 40mm body tube.

Cut off 1 1/2" of the main body tube. The length of the baffle or coupler usually matches the diameter of the tube it is made from.
Example: From a 1 1/2" diameter main body tube you would cut a coupler/baffle 1 1/2" long.
Using a straight edge or angle iron, cut that 1 1/2" long piece straight down it's length.
Slide into the main body tube and press it tightly to the inside walls of the tube.

Mark the overlap with a pencil using the cut coupler edge as a guide.

Cut the tube on the pencil line removing the longer rectangular piece.

Here's the soon to be coupler slid back into the 40mm tube. This time I got a great slip fit in the main tube.
