Trace lightly (and wide) outside the fin edges. I'm using 20 lb. copy paper here. 24 lb. paper is better for covering fins.
Flip the fin over (think butterfly wings) over the rounded leading edge.
Trace wide again keeping plenty of clearance outside the fins edges.
Cut the paper smaller, closer to the drawn pencil margins.
Here's how much glue I used on the fin before smoothing it out.
Too much glue will lead to wrinkles and trouble getting the paper covering flat.
Smooth the glue with your clean fingertip and lay it down on the paper like in the first picture. Be sure the paper is smooth and flat on the balsa.
Use the back (white) side of a Sharpie pen as a burnisher to press the paper evenly on the balsa and push out any extra glue.
In the third picture, one side of the fin is glued down to the paper. The second side has a smoothed out coating of white glue. I'm ready to roll the paper over the rounded leading edge near the center of the picture.
