In the picture at the right: A 1/4" long engine block is started from the bottom of the engine mount tube. Push it in with an empty engine casing until it comes to rest under the top bend of the engine hook. No glue yet!
With the engine block below the engine hook, this prevents any chance of the engine hook tearing back through the engine tube from a strong ejection charge. The engine is locked it place during forward thrust and rearward ejection.
Here's a shot from the forward end of the engine mount tube with the engine block in place. Again, it is under the forward bend of the engine hook.
The glue fillet is added after the engine block is slid in place. When applying the fillet, keep an empty engine casing locked in under the block to keep it in place against the hook.
