Dr. Zooch Vanguard Eagle Build Part 1 Parts

This is the newest, soon-to-be released kit from the Dr. Zooch line.

The VANGUARD EAGLE

The box suggests a skill level of "Advanced".
A quick look at the instructions affirms this to be correct. It'll be a good challenge.

Estes had produced this rocket as a kit a few years ago.
This Dr. Zooch version is a major improvement. It's a two stage model incorporating an innovative gap staging system.

The gasses and pressure from the booster engine are vented back through the body of the first stage and out the rear engine bells.

Take a look at the X Prize Vanguard Eagle background HERE

Here's all the parts layed out:

    1. Hi Brian,
There's no "plans" or templates, just instructions. I can't attach PDFs on the blog. That and I don't have permission to distribute them.

    2. Hey Chris,

Was this ever released as a kit? Maybe eRockets.biz will pick this one up like the Falcon Heavy....

    3. Hi Brian,
Estes had a kit, lots of plastic parts. The Dr. Zooch kit was a two stage.

  2. Hi Chris,

So Wes never released it as a kit? I'm going to convert a Estes Nike-Apache to gap staging but I don't think the Estes Vanguard can be converted....

    1. Hi Brian,
Wes did release it as a very limited production kit. I did a build for the team that developed the Vanguard Eagle. The problem is the nose cone. It was resin cast. I don't think the vendor that made them for the kit is still in business.
