I slid the interstage can partway down over the engine mount centering rings without using glue.
A bead of white glue was added to the inside edge of the lower ring and the interstage can was set in position.
An internal fillet was then applied to the joint of the upper ring and inside the interstage can.
Here's the finished booster engine mount.
In the top picture it looks like the glue is on the top of the ring surface. Were you counting on it spreading out on its own after insertion?

ReplyDeleteThe bead of glue rolled over the edge of the centering ring so it would spread out and make an internal fillet.
As the outside tube was set in place, it was also turned to even out the fillet inside.
There would be no other way to get the glue inside!
